Primary Co-Curricular

Co-Curricular

At Clayfield College, our Primary co-curricular activities offer a diverse range of opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to explore their passions across a variety of areas including music, outdoor education, debating, leadership and service, and enrichment activities.

Our music program offers opportunities for all interests and ability levels, from choir and string ensembles to beginner band and percussion. Students perform at College concerts and festivals, while also collaborating with other schools through events such as the Combined Junior Music Festival.

Through outdoor education, students participate in age-appropriate camps across South-East Queensland. Each year level engages with themes such as resilience, connection and transition, building confidence and independence in supportive environments.

Clayfield’s Primary debating program provides opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, teamwork and public speaking skills, while leadership and service initiatives help children grow as confident contributors to their community.

Our Primary co-curricular activities ensure every student has the opportunity to shine, discover new interests and build the foundations for future success.

Sports

Clayfield College Primary students are able to participate in a wide range of sports, through their participation in sport we inspire students to pursue their personal best, develop leadership skills, and foster teamwork. Our Primary Sport program provides opportunities for our students to engage in competitions, interhouse carnivals, and representative pathways, all within a supportive environment.

Across the year, students can participate in sports such as swimming, touch football, tennis, cross country, netball, athletics, football, AFL, cricket, artistic gymnastics, basketball, and aquathlon. These activities are offered through the Andrews Cup (for girls), Britton Shield (for boys), and Club Sport competitions, alongside College-based events including our much-loved Interhouse carnivals.

Within our sports curriculum, we inspire students to pursue their personal best, develop leadership skills, and foster teamwork. We value our students' contributions to their teams, their collaboration with coaches, and their readiness to embrace new challenges both in training and competition.
