The Spirit of Clayfield Awards recognise members of our College family - staff, students, Old Collegians and community members, for embodying our College values and inspiring others to let their light shine. The awards are presented each year at our Foundation Day Assembly.

Details regarding the selection criteria and nomination process are outlined below. 

Categories 

Spirit of Clayfield Award - Old Collegians

Spirit of Clayfield Award – Old Collegian is an award which celebrates and acknowledges past students who have achieved outstanding success in one of the following areas:

  1. Service to their profession
  2. Service to the community
  3. Service to Clayfield College

Award Categories

Spirit of Clayfield Gold Award – Old Collegian

This award is for a past student who graduated from the College over 10 years ago (prior to 2014), who has demonstrated significant accomplishments in their personal and professional life, or for service to Clayfield College, their community or country.

Spirit of Clayfield Green Award – Old Collegian

This award is for a past student who graduated from the College less than 10 years ago (2014 and after), who has achieved significant accomplishments in their personal and professional life, or for service to Clayfield College, their community or country within a relatively short period of time.

Nomination Process

  • Complete the Nomination Form, which includes a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing why the Nominee deserves to be recognised and how they meet the criteria for the award (described above)
  • Send a current professional CV/resume of the Nominee to principal@clayfield.qld.edu.au

Procedure and Selection Criteria

Applicants may self-nominate or be nominated for an award.

  • Applications will only be considered by completing the Nomination Form by the due date.
  • The selection panel comprising of the Principal, and two representatives from the Clayfield College community, will determine the recipient shortlist, these decisions are final, and no communication will be entered into with any person in relation to any decision by the selection panel. The Principal will determine the Award winners.
  • The selection panel reserves the right to allow nominations to remain valid for up to two years. Nominators will be advised and will be responsible for updating additional information during this time.
  • Nominations can be made by current or past staff, students and parents.
  • The selection panel reserves the right not to allocate an award if there are no entries of sufficient merit. The number of awards allocated in each category will be at the selection panel's discretion.
  • Awards will not be awarded posthumously.
  • All nominations are confidential.
  • Unsuccessful nominators and nominees will be personally contacted regarding the outcome of the nomination. 
  • All Award recipient's details and images will be published and used for marketing and communications activities.
  • Award recipients may be announced in Clayfield College publications prior to the award-giving ceremony during Foundation Day, or an event determined by the Principal.
  • Clayfield College reserve the right to disqualify a nomination, if a nominee is found at any stage, to have given any false or misleading information, or the nomination brings the Awards into public disrepute or ridicule or offends public opinion or reflects unfavourably upon the Awards' reputation.

Spirit of Clayfield Award - Community

This award honours a member of the College community who has demonstrated long-term commitment and has consistently dedicated their time and effort to the betterment of the College and its community. It acknowledges qualities of character and contribution that Clayfield College is proud to embrace and the way that these qualities let the light shine in those around them.

Nomination Process

The nomination process requires a staff member, parent or alumni to nominate a member of the Clayfield College community by writing a statement which covers the criteria below. The submission of this statement will occur by completion of the Nomination Form here.

Within the nomination form, describe how the College community member has:

  1. Demonstrated a long-term commitment and consistently dedicated their time and effort to the College; and
  2. Made a significant, positive impact on the College and the College community.
