Students make an impact abroad

We are incredibly proud of the students for seizing this opportunity to volunteer abroad. In doing so, they have made such a significant impact on the lives of others.

Ten students from Clayfield’s Secondary School recently returned from an 18-day service trip to Borneo. Prior to departing, they raised $2,000 to fund the reconstruction of a community hall in Kampung Kiaou.

Whilst in Borneo, the students worked extremely hard to demolish the existing structure, mix cement with shovels, and build new walls. They enjoyed engaging with the locals and exchanging cultural practices and beliefs. Other activities participated in included climbing Mt Kinabalu (4092m), trekking through the most biodiverse rainforest on Earth, and watching orangutans.
