About Clayfield College

Clayfield College is a leading independent day and boarding school, owned and governed by the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA) on behalf of the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches. It is co-educational from Pre-Prep to Year 6, girls only from Year 7 to Year 12 and boarding for girls from Year 5 to Year 12. Netball and Hockey Coach – Secondary school

The College is seeking to fill a number QGSSSA coaching positions for netball and hockey. These positions involve coaching students before and after school and attending fixtured games on Saturday mornings in Term 3. The QGSSSA pre-season commences in week 3 of Term 2 and the season concludes at the end of Term 3 on the 11th September. During the June-July school holidays, there will be no training.

During Term 2 and 3, each sport trains at different times and days during the week. Where possible we will try an accommodate other commitments. In Term 3, the position will include two training sessions and a Saturday match each week during the QGSSSA season.

Netball Coach – Primary school

The College is also seeking to fill a netball coaching position for the Andrews Cup competition in our junior school years. This coaching position involves coaching students before or after school over a 6-week period then attending one afternoon metro meet and the one-day A C carnival.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Follow the netball or hockey QGSSSA / AC by-laws specific to the assigned team.
  2. Engage students in the program, ensuring each individual develops and enhances their skills and game capabilities.
  3. Plan, organise and lead training sessions for the assigned team in conjunction with the Coordinator/Head coaches overall plan for the sport.
  4. Attend all training sessions and games/meets for the assigned team. Notification must be given in advance if attendance is not possible.
Reporting Relationships

You will report directly to the Head Coach/Coordinator of the specific sport on a day to day basis but ultimately you report to the Director of Sport.

Key Selection Criteria
  1. A proven coaching record with school age students
  2. Level 1 and or experience coaching teens in the sport.
  3. A current driver's licence.
  4. First Aid/CPR qualifications (desired).
  5. A current Working with children Blue Card or willingness to obtain a Positive Notice Blue Card. 
  6. In-depth knowledge and experience of netball or hockey.
  7. Willingness to support the College's traditions and Christian ethos.

  • To dress, act and communicate in a professional manner that upholds the reputation of the College at all training sessions and game days.
  • To complete all mandatory training prior to commencing in the role.
  • To become familiar with and abide by College policies and risk management practices.
  • To maintain confidentiality and not denigrate the College in any way within the community.
