The Position

This is a opportunity to join our team of friendly swim coaches! We are a family friendly swim school that offers a broad range of Learn to Swim lessons starting from 6 months of age, through to junior and competition squad level right up to adults as well as catering for 1:1 lessons across a wide range of abilities. This role sits alongside a robust school swimming program where you will be part of the team who deliver the Learn to Swim program as part of our school HPE curriculum in term 1 and 4

Lessons are taught onsite in our heated pool all year round.

This role is part of a small team and it is expected that the coach will take direction from the Head Swim Coach and work alongside our family of coaches as well as being supported by the Swimming Administrator. Everyone gets stuck in and you will have the opportunity to grow and develop across the whole program of classes.

  • Have a passion to teach children of all ages and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Have a strong desire to be a part of something truly remarkable and be willing to play an integral role in building something special.
  • Have an ability to work well in a team and contribute to the open exchange of ideas and discussion.
  • Be willing to share your ideas and processes for improvement.
  • Be available to work across Monday – Saturday.
  • Have an AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety.
  • Have a current CPR Certificate.
  • Have or be willing to obtain Working with Children Check.
  • Have a desire to work with children and instil a fun and confident attitude to water.

Desirable criteria;

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics.
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes.
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Adults.

  • Enthusiasm, energy, initiative and a friendly disposition.
  • Able to work constructively with Parents, Students and Teachers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
