Junior Schooling (Pre-Prep to Year 5) at Clayfield College offers a quiet, calm, structured environment where care and concern for the individual are not only policy, but reality. Strong values are modelled by staff and reflected in the behaviours of the students. Good manners and respect are obvious amongst all members of the Junior Schooling community as is the friendly, welcoming environment. Home/school communication is valued and staff willingly deal with academic and pastoral issues as soon as they become aware of them.

Girls and boys from Pre-Prep to Year 5 and girl boarders from Year 5 make up the student body.

From Pre-Prep to Year 5 there are thirteen classes in all. Each class also has its own core teacher who is responsible for the pastoral care of each student.

There are numerous specialist teachers who enable us to offer a wide variety of programs – Music, Physical Education, Library, Christian Education, Design Technology, Enrichment, Technology, Learning Support, Reading Recovery, Japanese, Chinese, English as a Second Language. Staff also take students in Years 4 and 5 on Outdoor Education Camps. All staff volunteer to operate a wide variety of extra-curricular activities clubs during lunch breaks and before or after school.
