Life as a Boarder

The Carolyn Hauff Boarding House is centrally located in the leafy suburb of Clayfield, just north of Brisbane city and only a 10 minute drive from the domestic and international airports. Eagle Junction Railway Station is a five minute walk away with a bus stop located at the Boarding House doorstep.

All areas of the Boarding House are air-conditioned and are connected to the College’s internet facilities. Throughout the building are a number of small sitting areas for relaxing and hanging out with friends, kitchenettes, plus a television lounge with Xbox Kinect and Wii and large screen for special screenings and movie nights. Also provided is a gym, library, music room, pool table, table tennis, volleyball net, netball hoop and many board games.

Each day, our Head Chef and catering staff provide a choice of hot or continental breakfast ranging from cereals and smoothies to bacon and eggs and pancakes, a packed morning tea and lunch, afternoon tea, three hot dinner choices in the evening including a vegetarian option, and late night supper before bedtime.

We also provide an in-house same day laundry service.

Recreation and Activities

We provide a holistic recreation programme that is designed to provide opportunities for relaxation, socialising and to experience new activities and life in South East Queensland. Outings include trips to the beach, Southbank, museums, ice skating, theme parks, shopping and socials with other Boarding Schools.

Boarders are also involved in various sporting and recreational undertakings outside of the co-curricular activities on offer at our College such as representative and club sport, rowing, horse riding, and dancing. Boarding House staff personally transport students to these outside activities wherever possible.
